Strength and Dignity

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.  She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue."  Proverbs 31:25-26

14 years old and this is already true of her.  She is dignified and her strength is truly unparalleled.  I am continually stunned by her kindness and patience.  She has endured months of pain with only a few moments of panic and irritation.  She loves intentionally and with deep consideration.  If you asked her, she would say that she feels weak inside.  She is stunned that anyone would consider her strong.  But that is because she is humble and draws her assurance from a deep belief in her Creator.   She walks forward with a steady demeanor because she is resting each step in faith that the God who saved her is fighting for her, and ready to meet her in her future.

Tomorrow she will place her body into the hands of men who have studied long and worked for years trying to put broken pieces back together.   She knows that her Healer is not her surgeon, and she trusts that her pain will come to a close.  She has pleaded with God for her deliverance from these months of pain.  She doesn't understand why her road has been this one, with pain and uncertainty, but she is positive that not a single moment of pain or a single tear will be wasted.  We are trusting the God who placed her in our arms the first time, saved her from death on a cold, dark road to give her to us again, to bring her through this next step and give her back to us once more.
